can you tell i’m…

Making an effort to write more? Even if it’s about the most mundane things, I’m trying to get it all out. I’m in the midst of a shaky weird panic attack kind of thing. Maybe its because I’m coming off of all that cold medicine I’ve been taking. Or the swine flu is rearing it’s ugly piggy head again.

I spent yesterday evening with four of the bests at List, one of my favorite happy hour spots. I keep referring to it as the “new Barolo”, but since the original Barolo hasn’t actually gone anywhere, it’s kind of confusing. “The second Barolo” might be more accurate. A better Barolo, which means there’s always a seat, the food is both the same and different, and the happy hour deal is still $14 bottles of wine and 1/2 off the menu. All that plus great company in the form of Emily, Siri, Lucie and Kendall reminded me that I have great and funny friends and that’s muy importante.

Following the extended happy hour, we traveled up to The Spectator to watch the Yankees win the World Series (snore) and then I went home and discovered it was an hour later than I thought, and since I had to be up at 6am to attend the Women’s Funding Alliance’s “AMPLIFY” breakfast, I decided against my awesome flu/sleep medication and went to bed. Well, that’s not technically true. I watched the Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Ruins – crap television that I would never watch except Katie has gotten me hooked. Terrible!

And after a horrible coughing fit at 5am, I dragged my sick sleepy self down to the Skybridge at the Convention Center, for Amplify, which was the best fundraising breakfast I’ve been to all Fall. If you read my blog and want to know more about the organizations I support, check out the Women’s Funding Alliance. They had the cutest programs and decorations and gifts- EmpowerMINTS! Aren’t they cute?
