weekend recap
9 Nov
I feel like I didn’t do anything this weekend, but I’m about to prove myself wrong with this post.
Friday: First of all, I was two hours late to work because I got stuck in traffic because of the funeral procession of police cars for Officer Timothy Brenton. That was sad. Then I discovered myself in the Seattle Times gallery of mourners (there in the background, so obviously texting). Arrived at work, only to discover that we were going to Mike’s house on Capitol Hill for lunch. Picked up about 10lbs of food from Cafe Selam. Went back to work and threw a glass of water on Zeke to test out his new waterproof jacket. Was retrieved by Kendall in the Mini and stopped by the Seattle Animal Shelter in Interbay, picked up my car, tried to get a seat at Bastille (packed!), settled on the 35th Street Bistro. Ordered the cheese plate and french onion soup, which I wished was saltier. Missed the good ol’ Bistro days.
Saturday: Went on a massive fabric store tour with Katie: Stiches, Nancy’s, and JoAnn Fabrics – before going BACK to Stiches. Came home and made a cauliflower/broccoli/canadian bacon quiche for Katie, and then assembled 60 beet and ricotta raviolis, which I then froze in single-serving packets. I’m so domestic. Then, around 3pm, we started making random Raspberry Skyy vodka drinks, and after 1.5, I fell asleep while watching Funny Farm. Woke up and puttered around, and went back to bed at 10:30pm.
Sunday: Ventured to the EASTSIDE to go to the Humane Society, the Bravern, and Sky High Trampolines. We weren’t appropriately dressed for trampolining, nor did we want to squash little children (they were everywhere!). The Bravern was moderately disappointing. The Humane Society was sad. After attempting to eat at a chain restuarant (Chili’s and TGI Friday’s no longer exist in Western Washington), we settled for food at the RAM… and then went to the Bandit Bar… and then to Buckley’s, where Leah bribed me to stick around and then forced Bud Light down my throat.
