As we all know, I just LOVE compliments. And apparently, the best way to get a whole bunch of ‘em at once is to announce that you’re leaving your job.
Here are some of my favorites:
I really appreciate the energy, intelligence, and humor you have brought to SJF over the past several years. You have taken on so many things over the past couple of years, and always with confidence and inclusiveness. I feel lucky to have been able to work with you!
I am very sad to see you leave since we won’t be working together but I hope the future looks bright and I hope that a new exciting journey awaits you.
I wish you the best and hope that you will continue to find jobs that inspire you and are a good match for all your dynamic energy.
You have been an inspiration to watch and work with during my time with SJF. I look forward to our paths crossing again as we continue to work to make the world a better place.
The reality is that four (+) years is a really long time and that it’s high time that I move onward and upward in my career path. It also might be time to just sit back and take a break and regroup. I’ve been through an awful lot with this organization and I need to take a minute to remind myself what my goals are, and think about what I want to be when I grow up.
Of course, suggestions are welcome. Leaving one’s job without having another one lined up is a GIANT risk, but so far I’ve already been offered a consulting gig, asked to be an advisor for an organization in Idaho, and we’ll see what else crops up. I’ve set myself up for survival through February and then I’ll join the world of people living it up on unemployment…. which actually sounds quite awesome.
