We’re all aware that’s a Rihanna reference, right?
As long as that’s squared away, I’m about to gush about my love for Wal*mart. I’m fully aware that this is totally and completely wrong, and I shouldn’t shop there based on about a zillion social issues of the day… but I LOVE that I just bought a ton of generic crap I needed (I use this term loosely) for an absolute FRACTION of the price I would have paid elsewhere.
Here’s me at my very first Wal*Mart in Helena, MT. I was having a massive allergy attack, which was cured instantly by the mere sight of the rows and rows of things to buy for $1.
I also kind of like the fact that I bought my computer there and I also signed up for a Comcast internet $20/month deal and they GAVE me a $75 rebate card to use at my leisure. Today.
Katey K and I hit the Rainier Ave and crawled (Katey’s a slow driver) down to the Wal*mart in Renton and shopped and upshopped and shopped some more. I purchased 34 individual items for $70.41 and used the remaining $4 to purchase a box of Tag-A-Long Girl Scout cookies, because today is the last day and Girl Scout cookies are important to me. Especially since they’re dressing up like cookies these days! Have you seen their costumes? They’re awesome.
The most expensive item I purchased was a new yoga mat (I’m obsessed with Bikram, seriously) for $9, and the cheapest item I purchased was Hunt’s Tomato Paste for $.50. You never know when a recipe will call for tomato paste, I’ve learned, so it felt important to stock up.
